Esomeprazole, Itopride SR, is a medicinal capsule that has been manufactured to provide people with complete relief from symptoms associated with a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders related to acid production and to digestive motility (the movement of food through the digestive tract). Indications & Clinical Use
This combination is approved for use in a variety of gastrointestinal diseases associated with excessively high levels of stomach acid (GERDACID REFLUX), peptic ulcers (both gastric and duodenal), gastritis or chronic inflammation or irritation of stomach, dyspepsia, indigestion, flatulence or bloating and delayed gastric emptying and motility disorders, recurrence of symptoms related to excess gastric acid, and continued damage from excess gastric acid on the upper GI tract and continued to cause discomfort of gastric acid.
Dosage & Administration
Typically, this medication should be taken before a meal (30-60 minutes). Esomeprazole suppresses the secretion of gastric acid that is secreted during meals (e.g., to prepare for food intake), and at the same time, Itopride will improve the ability of the stomach to break down the food you will consume after taking Esomeprazole.
The capsule is taken with a full glass of water and must be swallowed whole. It is very important that the capsule not be chewed, crushed, or broken open since the enteric coating and sustained release must be properly managed to maintain the drug release and effectiveness.
